A meta-analysis of the object-based compatibility effect

Published in Cognition, 2019

We present a meta-analysis of object-based CEs to (1) obtain a point estimate of the overall effect and (2) test for moderation consistent with either affordance or spatial compatibility accounts.

Sidestepping spatial confounds in object-based correspondence effects: the Bimanual Affordance Task (BMAT)

Published in Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, 2019

In this study, we use a novel Bimanual Affordance Task (BMAT) - which sidesteps spatial confounds in traditional affordance paradigms - to test whether briefly viewed objects elicit motor activation indicative of affordance perception.
